Chris Brown and Rihanna together again professionally.

I wrote this in a blog entry from last March:
"In a world where, one day, we'll likely find out that Chris Brown has recoupled with Rihanna..."

That hasn't happened yet, but here are a couple of links on their professional reunion--

Take a look at the comments section on the VIBE post to discover that some of Young America have a laissez-faire attitude towards a young man with anger issues and superinflated sense of entitlement who beat up his ex-girlfriend.

Particularly Janay Johnson, who said:
"Honestly I'M HAPPY for Chris Brown and Rihanna . Why? because they clearly love each other. Even though they didn't say they were together again. LOVE IS LOVE. What Chris Brown did was not right . But who really knows what happened in the car between them two. He's HUMAN . I'm not sticking up for the dude but i respect the fact that he owned up to his actions and became a more humble person from the looks of it. Some people might call Rihanna Stupid, BUT ITS HER DECISION if she wants to be friends or with Chris again. PEOPLE SHOULD LEARN HOW TO STAY OUT OF PEOPLE'S BUSINESS AND STOP MAKING ASSUMPTIONS JUST OFF OF WHAT YOU SEEN AND NOT KNOWING THE "FULL" TRUE STORY. There had to be a reason why they kept the details from that night ULTRA PRIVATE . Even though they are celebrities there young and are still human. PEOPLE JUST JUST ENJOY THE GOOD MUSIC CHRIS AND RIHANNA PRODUCE AND STOP WORRYING ABOUT THEM."

Blog post about woman-to-woman sexism in slam poetry community.

In a world where, one day, we'll likely find out that Chris Brown has recoupled with Rihanna--here's a blog entry about one female poet describing how a peer of hers dressed her down in terms the latter's standards of proper attire and behavior:
http://www.radiuslit.org/2011/03/24/on-asking-for-it-an-examination-of-misogyny-in-the-slam-community/

To change the subject slightly, a female poster on Twitter (who follows cinematic goings-on) mentioned how Hailee Steinfeld will follow up her impressive, gutsy performance as Mattie Ross in the Coen Brothers' TRUE GRIT--by playing Sleeping Beauty.

Another case history: Amanda Seyfried drops out of SUCKER PUNCH (which looks to have been a wise career move)--only to find herself in a TWILIGHT-centric reimagining of RED RIDING HOOD.

In short, whether it's poetry or cinema or music, there seems to be more enthusiastic support for herding women back into a retrograde, dress-our-way-not-yours-and-walk-two-steps-behind-the-alpha-male corral--from men and women alike.
